I have been practicing transcendental meditation (TM) for nearly 2 years. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made in improving many aspects of my life. A sense of calm, being centred, postive, focused and prioritising what matters have been a few benefits. After an initial induction and training in the technique at the TM centre in Bristol things just started to get better. 20 minute meditations in the morning and evening give me enormous energy and allow me to get in tune with unbounded consciousness.   1. Graham, Thanks for this post. I learned TM almost 40 years ago, in April 1973. It was then, and remains, the smartest thing I ever did in my whole life. The rather outrageous claim made at the time was ‘Transcendental Meditation – for increased fulfilment in every sphere of life,’ and it delivered. The pitch was that TM is a simple, natural, effortless mental exercise, practiced morning and evening, that would produce increased mental effectiveness, better health, improved relationships, and that as more and more individuals experience inner peace through meditation, it could even create World Peace. If we ARE on the brink of a major evolutionary shift in world consciousness, I can’t help feeling that much of the credit for this should go to the Vedic science and yogic engineering of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
